Villa and Unai Emery may have a busy month in the transfer market since their owners NSWE are prepared to finance a January recruitment spree. This follows an amazing start to the season in which the team has been competing with teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City for the top spot in the Premier League.

According to reports, Villa wants to add two strikers, and Oscar Gloukh, an attacker for RB Salzburg, is one player that has been linked. Update on Kerr Smith as defender departs Aston Villa
Journalist Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider provided an update on teenage player Kerr Smith that he had learned from Aston Villa. According to him, the 19-year-old and Villa have reached an agreement for the player to finish his loan exit this month, and the player has also agreed to a new two-year contract.

Smith will be “one of a number of Villa talents who will be loaned out in the January window as the club look to get their regular senior playing time,” according to Villa, who are eager for the defender to gain regular first-team experience.

Smith joined the team in 2022 after leaving Dundee United, and academy boss Mark Harrison showered the player with compliments after his arrival:

“We are thrilled to have Kerr on board; we have been following and keeping an eye on him for quite some time.

“He is a 17-year-old with a lot of promise, but he has already experienced some amazing things at the first team level with Dundee United. We can’t wait to watch him grow and ideally see him establish himself as a mainstay in our first squad in the future.

Before relocating to England, Smith played 12 senior games for Dundee United, where seasoned defender Mark Connolly also gave him high marks. Connolly stated:

Over the past two years, Smith has made 51 appearances for Villa’s minor teams, although he has yet to make his senior debut. In light of this, Smith’s return to Scotland to get some senior playing experience during the second half of the season may prove to be a wise decision in the long run. Based on the information that has surfaced, Villa appears to still have high expectations for Smith in the Midlands after learning of a new contract.
