Aston Villa vs. Burnley predicted lineup: Lucas Digne out and Emery drops a £25 million star
Aston Villa must recover from their loss to Manchester United when they host Burnley at Villa Park this weekend. This is our anticipated XI.
The last time Aston Villa played Manchester United, it was a night to forget. The Villans lost 3-2 even though they had a 2-0 lead.
Leander Dendoncker and John McGinn’s goals gave them the lead against the previously subpar Red Devils team. Due to this, Villa led by two goals at the half.
In the second half, goals from Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho combined to turn the game upside down. It was his debut Premier League game.
This team’s collapse was extremely disappointing, especially considering Unai Emery’s team’s performance thus far this season. The Villans are currently three points out of a top four slot, although they are still in third place as of this writing.
Villa has never been well at Old Trafford historically, but this season they have been much better at home. They will now host Burnley, who are in 19th place, in an attempt to resume their winning ways. Having stated that, let’s examine our anticipated XI.
Aston Villa’s Lineup Prediction
Emiliano Martinez was an excellent sweeper keeper against Manchester United and played a significant role in the game. FotMob reports that he kept out more than one xG that evening, but he was unable to contribute anything to any of the goals. Dibu, as usual, is the goalie in our expected starting lineup.
The backline needs to be reorganized because it hasn’t been playing well lately. Matty Cash is free to return after his ban and may do so. Since center defender is Ezri Konsa’s preferred position and his strongest position, it is imperative that he plays there. Lucas Digne will now be out, so Alex Moreno will start the match against the Clarets. Pau Torres is so vital to the Villa team that, if he is fit, he must start in the left center-back position.
Douglas Luiz will continue to play in central midfield. Leander Dendoncker must again be beside him following an outstanding showing against United.
John McGinn, the captain, needs to take back his position in wide midfield. On the other hand, following a quiet and subpar performance at Old Trafford, Jacob Ramsey must be dropped. Leon Bailey, who had a fantastic performance the previous time out, ought to return to midfield.
Direct Ollie Watkins will make his way back onto the scoresheet by starting from scratch. In order to gain confidence, Moussa Diaby must reclaim a spot in our projected starting lineup next to him.
Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Torres, Moreno, Bailey, Dendoncker, Luiz, McGinn, Diaby, Watkins, and Marcos were the players Aston Villa projected to start.
