The Tennessee coaching staff is beginning to ramp up its activity in the transfer portal. After landing the No. 1 tight end, Holden Staes, and a top-10 safety, Jakobe Thomas, the Vols have turned their attention toward a premium Pac-12 target.

Oregon State corner Jermod McCoy is the No. 7 corner in the transfer portal this cycle, according to 247Sports Transfer Rankings. He was a 2023 high school graduate and has three years of eligibility remaining after an impressive true freshman season. McCoy tallied 31 tackles, seven pass deflections, and two interceptions in 2023 for the Beavers.

Tennessee has been active in this one, and on Monday they got two predictions from insiders to land McCoy. 247Sports’s Chris Hummer and Collin Kennedy logged predictions in Tennessee’s favor, a strong sign for the Vols.

The offseason is almost underway for Tennessee football. The Vols have concluded the regular season and are now focusing on roster construction for the 2023 season. Volunteer Country has fans covered with all the latest portal entries and NFL Draft declarations. The portal window is from December 4 until January 2. If players don’t transfer within that window, they must wait until May following spring practice to enter the transfer portal.
