“Incredible acquisition”: Celtic to spend £5m on “outstanding” 24-years-old…

Following the announcement that Hyeongyu Oh and Hyunjun Yang have been called up to the South Korean Asian Cup squad, there has never been a greater need for Celtic to recruit a striker during the January transfer window.

Given the likelihood of Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda being called up for Japan, Celtic will face significant challenges in the striking department.

The South Korean FA announced this morning on social media channel X that Yang and Oh would be traveling to the tournament in January. This implies that, depending on whether Korea advances in the tournament, they will miss a minimum of two games: Ross County in the league and Buckie Thistle in the Scottish Cup.

For this reason, John Hartson is pushing for his former team to make a big play and acquire Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski. Hartson thinks Rodgers need to consider spending £5 million on the striker, who has been linked to the Hoops.

Hartson stated on The Go Radio Football Show that he would make a fantastic addition to Celtic. He seems to get players to play off of him.

Outstanding at supporting it. You can see that he’s a fantastic finisher and has excellent ball control and passing skills.

Hartson responded, “I would pay £5 million for him,” when asked how much he would pay for the international player from North Macedonia.

“In my opinion, he is an exceptional athlete.”

Given Aberdeen’s recent struggles, Miovski does have a strong goal scoring record. It’s impressive that he has 14 goals in 27 games, but how many more could he possibly score in a side like Celtic that is always creating opportunities? [Transfermarkt]

Miovski, who is only 24 years old, does fit Celtic’s transfer model, but it’s debatable if the team would be prepared to fork over a record-breaking sum to move a player from two Scottish rivals.
