JUST INM: Changing My mind’… Ray Parlour Now Predicts The Perfect Result Of Man United vs Aston Villa Clash

Ray Parlour feels there will be nothing to separate Manchester United and Aston Villa when the two sides meet at Old Trafford tonight.

Erik ten Hag will be desperate for a positive result this evening following a disappointing 2-0 defeat at West Ham on Saturday.

Unai Emery’s men also stumbled over the weekend, with Aston Villa being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield United.

At the start of the campaign, not many would have expected Villa to head into Boxing Day 11 points clear of Manchester United. But such has been Emery’s impact at Villa Park, the Villains find themselves in with a surprise shout for a title race.

And despite the fact United have lost two of their last three games in the Premier League, Ray Parlour feels Ten Hag’s side will pick up a point this evening.

Parlour predicts Man United vs Aston Villa result

Speaking on talkSPORT, Parlour admitted he initially had United down to beat Villa this evening.

But the former Arsenal man has changed his mind since and feels the two sides will have to settle for a point.

He said: “Well, I did say Man United win but I’m slowly changing my mind now…”

“Oh, he’s bottled it,” Jamie O’Hara responded.

“Even Sam Matterface is changing my mind now,” Parlour added. “I think Villa will get something out of the game. I won’t go with a Villa win though.

“I’m going to go Man United 1-1, who’s scoring a goal for Man United? That’s the big question. I was going to go Watkins. Fernandes [for United].”

United’s recent form at Old Trafford has been far from convincing. The Red Devils suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in their most recent league game on home soil.

Ten Hag’s men fell to a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at home just days later, which ultimately saw them crash out of the Champions League.

Villa’s away form has also improved in recent weeks as they’ve managed wins at Tottenham and Brentford.

It’s difficult to see United picking up a result this evening when you consider their recent displays. Villa have been one of the best sides in the league this term and in our view, they will secure a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
