Patriots Captain Had This Shoken Request Fulfilled After Loss To Chiefs…

Last Sunday, Deatrich Wise did not leave Gillette Stadium with a victory for the Patriots, but he did get a priceless memento.

For Chiefs lineman Joe Thuney, who spent his first five NFL seasons in New England before joining Kansas City prior to the 2021 season, the Week 15 matchup was a homecoming. Wise and Thuney played together for four of those seasons, and in the 2018 season, they won Super Bowl LIII.

Following the Chiefs’ 27-17 victory, Wise and Thuney reunited on the field. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss’ most recent Sunday morning column, the defensive end requested the 2022 Pro Bowler’s jersey. Thuney, who played for the Patriots and never missed a game, complied and switched threads with Wise.

But Thuney’s amazing moment in Foxboro, Massachusetts, last weekend wasn’t the only one. With a really clever trick play score that featured a unique Patrick Mahomes-inspired hunch for Thuney, Kansas City got the scoring started.

When New England plays in Denver on Christmas Eve, maybe Wise will try to expand his collection of jerseys. In Week 15, the Broncos could expect to see former Patriots Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Jarrett Stidham, and newly promoted Ronnie Perkins in uniform.
