Newcastle United, who is rivaled by Juventus, has advanced negotiations with Manchester City to sign Kalvin Phillips on a loan.
Team Talk claims that in order to sign Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City, Newcastle United and the latter are in advanced talks. Juventus is in competition with the Magpies to acquire the £45 million Premier League winner and bring the England international to Turin.
The rumors surrounding Kalvin Phillips’ potential transfer could take an intriguing turn as the January window draws nearer. The £45 million Premier League winner is eager to play regularly before the Euros, so Manchester City has little trouble letting him go in January.
Therefore, while Phillips looks for assurances on playing regularly, any choice regarding a new club will be contingent upon that. Juventus has been expressing interest in a loan deal with Manchester City for a number of weeks now, and Fabrizio Romano recently stated that talks had begun.
Manchester City is interested in a loan that includes a buyback provision, though this is still up for discussion. Phillips is preferred over other targets by Juventus, who are eager to strengthen their midfield.
