‘Constant danger’: Sunderland make an offer; must persuade the club to sign him next month…

According to a Spanish report, Sunderland have identified Musa Drammeh of Sevilla as a transfer target.

The winger joined Sevilla Atlético [the club’s reserve team] in January 2022 after joining the club from Extramadura.

According to Diario de Sevilla, the 22-year-old is a’very important player’ for Sevilla Atlético, and his form has piqued the interest of Sunderland.

Sevilla initially struggled to find Musa’s best position on the field, which affected his performances.

Last season, Antonio Hidalgo was the reserve manager, and Diario de Sevilla reports that he ‘knew how to understand his qualities as a footballer and took full advantage of them to turn him into a player of constant danger.’

After being used mainly as a substitute last season, the Gambian has started to enjoy more minutes this season. He’s scored five goals and registered two assists in 15 games.

The Black Cats have sent scouts to watch the player and are pleased with his displays, so much so that they made an offer. The report provides no details of the proposal tabled by Michael Beale’s side but states Sevilla has’rejected  it’.

That’s because the Andalusian club sees Musa Drammeh as a key player for Sevilla Atlético and believes he could also serve their first team in the future.
His contract lasts until 2025 and Sevilla expects him to continue with the reserve team, at least until the end of this season.
It needs to be seen whether Sunderland will return with an improved offer and if they do, they will have to convince Sevilla to let Musa go next month.
