Omari Kelly, a former wide receiver for Auburn, has committed to Middle Tennessee State.
Kelly, who declared he would do so on December 1, was the first of a few Auburn receivers to access the transfer portal.
In a complete overhaul of Auburn’s wide receiver room since his arrival, receivers Jyaire Shorter, Malcolm Johnson Jr., and Ja’Varrius Johnson have all started looking for new schools.
Kendall Simmons, a former All-American player for Auburn and an analyst on the coaching staff since 2019, made the announcement on December 10 that he would be departing Auburn to take the position of offensive line coach at Middle Tennessee State, where he will work under new head coach Derek Mason. In 2022, Mason oversaw defense operations at Auburn.
Kelly played in just eight games in the 2023 campaign, totaling two receptions for 45 yards.
He was a former Hewitt-Trussville 4-star prospect.
