The third club joins the race to sign Aston Villa’s most wanted man in January..

On December 6th, Bild reported that Aston Villa’s Clément Lenglet has emerged as a target for Bayern Munich for the winter market.

Three days ago, we covered claims from Italy that AC Milan had also set their sights on the centre-back. It was also stated that Unai Emery and the Villans director, Monchi, will have the final say on a potential deal next month.

The Bundesliga winners and the Serie A side are now joined by Napoli in the chase for the Aston Villa player, according to Il Mattino.

Walter Mazzarri’s side is aiming to strengthen their defence in January and has already identified a few targets. Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior is leading the list and if a deal cannot be carried out for the Pole, Lenglet is seen as an alternative.

The 28-year-old joined Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona in the summer window and has been restricted to five appearances in the UEFA Conference League this season.

His situation at Villa Park and experience give the Naples club optimism about taking him on loan in the upcoming window.

However, as previously pointed out, a potential transfer will only be possible if Emery gives his approval for Aston Villa to cut short his loan deal in January, which remains to be seen.
