David Prutton has had his say ahead of the crucial Championship matchup this weekend.

There is a crucial match at the bottom end of the Championship table this weekend as Sheffield Wednesday host Queens Park Rangers at Hillsborough.

At present, Sheffield Wednesday sit 23rd in the league table, with their opponents currently 22nd.

The Championship throws up an intriguing clash this weekend when Sheffield Wednesday host Queens Park Rangers at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday dump Newcastle out of FA Cup thanks to Josh Windass doubleThe season so far has been a struggle for both sides, but recently, with both under the guidance of new bosses, they have seen an upturn in form.

Under Danny Rohl, for example, Sheffield Wednesday have collected seven points from their last five matches.

That run included wins over Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, as well as a respectable draw versus league leaders Leicester City.

QPR, meanwhile, have collected 10 points from that very same period, with wins over Hull City, Preston North End and Stoke City, and a draw at home to Plymouth Argyle last time out.

Despite that, though, as you can see below, both clubs remain inside the relegation zone, with QPR one point adrift of ‘safety’ in 22nd, and Sheffield Wednesday eight points away from 21st-placed Huddersfield Town.

A win, then, could see QPR climb out of the relegation zone, whilst three points for Sheffield Wednesday could see them move closer to safety.

David Prutton’s Sheffield Wednesday v QPR score prediction
Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton does not believe that either side will take three points in the crucial relegation encounter this weekend.

Indeed, Prutton believes that there will be a share of the points, predicting a 1-1 draw that he admits will do no good for either side.

“For a moment it looked like it might have been three wins on the spin for Sheffield Wednesday, but their dreams of that were foiled at Norwich in midweek,” Prutton explained via his weekly Sky Sports predictions column.
