Aston Villa could land RB Salzburg star Oscar Gloukh in January for a fee of around £40-50million, sources have told Football Insider.

Salzburg don’t want to lose the 19-year-old mid-season but it is believed their exit from the Champions League is a huge blow.

The Austrian giants do sell their best players historically – with Dominik Szoboszlai, Brenden Aaronson and Patson Daka all departing for big-money fees in recent years.

Gloukh only joined Salzburg earlier this year but it is believed they will find it hard to keep hold of the Israel international amid interest across Europe and in the Premier League.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (11 December) that Gloukh is on the radar at Aston Villa ahead of the January transfer window – and see the midfielder as a player with top potential.

The teenager, who can play as an attacking midfielder and on both flanks, is under contract until June 2027.

He has already played 41 times for Salzburg, notching eight goals and seven assists – including two strikes in the Champions League.

Aston Villa have enjoyed a brilliant start to the 2023-24 campaign and sit third in the Premier League after 16 games.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (12 December) that Villa are also plotting a January move for an out-and

-The Midlands giants have qualified for the Europa Conference League’s knockout stage – which will take place from February.

It is believed the Midlands giants are ready to bolster their top-four credentials by moving for two additional attackers in January.
