‘Have To Say It’… Paul Merson Predicts Scores Who’s Winning On Today Arsenal And Aston Villa Clash
Paul Merson has given his prediction of the upcoming Premier League match between Unai Emery’s Aston Villa and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The former Arsenal and Villa star has said that there will be three goals in the match.
So, what has Paul Merson said about Aston Villa against Arsenal? Let’s take a look.
Paul Merson backs Arsenal to beat Aston Villa
Well, Aston Villa will lock horns with Arsenal at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Both Villa and Arsenal are doing well. While the Villans are now third in the Premier League table with 32 points from 15 matches, the Gunners are at the top with 36 points from 15 games.
Villa are going places under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery, and I suspect he would love to deliver a blow to the Gunners in their quest to win the Premier League title.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted Arsenal to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.
Merson told SportsKeeda: “Aston Villa absolutely dominated Manchester City and came away with a deserved 1-0 win in midweek. I haven’t seen a team do that to Man City in god knows how long, so it was a huge statement of intent from Unai Emery and Co.
“If Aston Villa win here, they are in the title race. I just have to say it. They put in a lot of hard work against Man City yesterday, but I still fancy Arsenal in this one. If Arsenal can beat the Villa press with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in the center of the park, I don’t think the full-backs will be able to handle the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.”
Arsenal have to avoid losing to Aston Villa
In my opinion, Arsenal simply cannot lose to Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Yes, Villa are doing well now and have home advantage, but Arsenal do have the better team and have to make sure that they do not lose.
Mikel Arteta’s side are as many as six points clear of defending champions Manchester City. That is a massive lead. Arsenal could end up winning the Premier League title this season.
