Doctor reacts to Barry Ferguson comment on Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack retirement

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers…

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack does not appear to be ruled out with a serious injury despite his recent absence, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

Barry Ferguson recently stated that while his injury record is concerning, he would not want to retire ahead of the EUROs in 2024.

The injury expert believes that to be the case as well and also has highlighted the importance of a collaborative relationship between club and country.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “The majority of players put a massive emphasis on playing for their countries – especially at major tournaments.

“So I agree with the commentary here that you need a collaborative relationship between club and country.

“He does appear to be close to returning and nothing serious has been reported on his current injury.“

Philippe Clement is yet to see what the Scotland international can offer to his side over the course of numerous games.

The 31-year-old has been available for the odd game or two but then has succumbed to fresh injuries.

He was even picked for the Scotland side during the international break, but got injured after just 12 minutes of football.

In other Rangers news, the club may now rekindle the transfer interest in a ‘Dynamic’ central midfielder amid a recent behind-the-scenes coup.
