In a new ‘serious’ update, the top player provides West Brom injury news…

Jed Wallace has told West Brom fans he hopes his injury isn’t serious after being forced off in the 1-0 Championship victory against Cardiff City on November 28.

The forward was the subject of plenty of concern after Carlos Corberan told the media that Wallace was in “a lot of pain” after coming off the pitch.

While he couldn’t confirm the extent of the injury or any diagnosis for what had happened, the hope that he won’t be out for too long should be reassuring while we wait for an official word on a timeframe for his return.

Replying to a fan on Twitter [29 November] who had asked how he was, Wallace responded: “Not too sure at the moment to be honest, mate, hoping it’s not too serious though,” coupled with two fingers crossed emojis.

It’s not only Wallace who will have his fingers crossed

Not only will Wallace have his fingers tightly crossed in the hope of a swift return, but the entirety of The Hawthorns will be praying the injury blow is not a serious one and that he can return to the side if not for the Leicester clash than at least Sunderland on December 9.
It must be said that if he was going to get injured at any point, it would probably come at a more convenient time. The return of Josh Maja, Jeremy Sarmiento, and John Swift from their respective injuries has ensured there is more depth in the attack than was the case a couple of weeks ago.

However, it does feel like Corberan has rarely had the pick of the bunch when it comes to his selection of attacking players, with one or the other always having picked up a knock, which will be a source of frustration for the Spaniard.
Wallace has become a key part of the attacking lineup under Corberan in recent weeks and has stepped up in the absence of other key players, making himself a favourite under the boss, and it will be a blow if they have to miss him for any extended period.
