Exclusive: Wolves and Newcastle compete to sign a youthful sensation; a £20 million deal will be reached…

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Newcastle United, Wolves, and Fulham have joined elite Premier League teams in the competition for Le Havre defender sensation Arouna Sangante.

Sangante has also been observed by scouts from Newcastle, Fulham, and Wolves in anticipation of a possible 2024 transfer to England.
After his dominant achievements in Ligue 1, it’s thought that European powerhouses AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also eager to sign him.

FIFA agent Willie McKay has been given sole authority by Le Havre owner Vincent Volpe to sell Sangante during the January transfer window. Volpe is aware of the increasing interest in the player.

Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that the Normandy team values the Senegalese-born defender at approximately £20 million.

Sangante has made ten top-flight appearances this term, helping his side keep five clean sheets – including in draws against Monaco, Lens and Lyon.

He is the captain at Le Havre after breaking through as a teenager in the 2021-22 campaign.

The centre-back is under contract until June 2026 after penning his last contract extension in July, weeks after helping the club back to Ligue 1.

Sangante, 21, has already racked up 81 appearances in senior football despite his tender age.

Newcastle are in dire need of centre-back reinforcements following an injury crisis which has ravaged their first team in recent weeks.

In the meanwhile, Wolves are rebuilding their team following a summer fire sale that resulted in the departure of players like Nathan Collins, Matheus Nunes, and Ruben Neves.

Fulham is probably going to be one of the busiest Premier League teams in January, and manager Marco Silva has made center-back a priority for the upcoming season, as Football Insider previously reported on November 12.
