Ducksch is among the goal scorers this season in Germany, having netted six goals in 12 games total, or one goal every two games on average.
The Premier League is showing interest in him, and his performances have raised the possibility of his leaving during the January transfer window.
Ducksch is a striker Nottingham Forest is interested in signing him in January; a move to England would treble his pay.
However, according to German tabloid Bild, Newcastle United is also planning to follow Ducksch, so they won’t be the only Premier League team.
Due to injury, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak are temporarily sidelined for the Magpies; their recovery dates are not yet known.
Manager Eddie Howe is therefore keen on adding to his options, and Ducksch is being monitored.
The 29-year-old may find moving to England appealing, but there isn’t a release clause that the two interested teams could activate. Whether Newcastle United chooses to pursue their interest when the transfer window opens in January is still up in the air.
