Wolves in talks with ‘brilliant’ forward over new contract, he’s keen to stay
Hwang Hee-Chan has been immense for Gary O’Neil’s Wolves side this season and has earned himself a potential new contract.
Wolves’ South Korean international Hwang Hee-Chan has been unstoppable this campaign under the guidance of Gary O’Neil.
He has already doubled his tallies for last season with six goals and two assists in just 12 Premier League appearances as per Transfermarkt.
He has been revitalised under O’Neil as many players have been and it is finally clear to see why Wolves spent £13m on him.
With both player and club enjoying the season and having success together, a new contract is now believed to be on the table for the 27-year-old.
Wolves to offer Hwang new contract
The news comes according to David Ornstein and The Athletic, who report that Wolves are in talks with their top scorer over a potential new contract.
Hwang does have a contract with over two years remaining, but Wolves are keen to tie him down to a new deal which would also be on improved terms.
Discussions are believed to be progressing well as the South Korean is a big fan of O’Neil and is keen to stay, assuming the terms are right for him.
With such an impressive season to date, it is no wonder Wolves are desperate to get a new contract in place as soon as possible to avoid his departure.
Hwang is worth every for Wolves
Wolves were many people’s prediction for a shock relegation, a call which has made many look silly and that is down in part to Hwang’s performances.
Lauded by many, the ‘brilliant‘ forward has been untouchable for Wolves along with Pedro Neto.
Without the goals of Hwang though, Wolves probably would have found themselves dragged into the relegation battle.
Hwang has played a direct part in six points for Wolves with his goals and assists earning his side those extra points.
The 2019 Asian Cup gold medalist is invaluable to this Wolves side who look set to repay him with a new contract.
