£20k-a-week Uruguayan among three options for Wolves to replace Pedro Neto if he’s sold

Wolves will be increasingly wary of losing Pedro Neto in January as Premier League giants including Liverpool, circle for his signature.

Wolves’ star man this season has been Portuguese winger Pedro Neto who has racked up a massively impressive seven assists and one goal. Neto has been on fire this season, to the extent where even his impressive numbers don’t do him justice.

Neto has been lauded as close to ‘perfection’ by current Wolves coach Shaun Derry, and we couldn’t say it better ourselves.Manchester United v Luton Town - Premier League

His form has however inevitably attracted interest from across the Premier League, Liverpool being tipped as front runners after they scouted him.

He is currently out injured after picking up an injury against Newcastle, but his return is expected soon after the international break. But the injury is unlikely to put off potential suitors which means a replacement will need to be considered should he be sold.

Here are three players who could be the ideal replacement…

Facundo Pellistri

Manchester United’s Uruguayan international would be a really strong player to add to the squad either on loan or permanently. Facundo Pellistri is far better than how United treat him and could easily be a regular for United.

However, if they aren’t planning on using him, Wolves could make a move to acquire the £20k-a-week winger at least for the rest of the season.

A regular for Marcelo Bielsa in the Uruguay team at just 21, Pellistri is waiting for his big chance, and a Neto-less Wolves could be just that.

Jack Clarke

Sunderland’s top scorer this season with nine goals in the Championship, Jack Clarke is a hot commodity. Primarily a left-winger, Clarke like Neto can easily apply his game to the right side.

There is believed to be heavy interest in the Premier League with Brentford one of the clubs mentioned, but with additional funds from a possible Neto sale, Clarke could and probably should become the top target.

The 22-year-old Englishman is probably the most exciting player in the Championship and a move to the pinnacle of English football awaits, so Wolves should be interested.

Oscar Bobb

Manchester City’s next breakout star, Oscar Bobb is one which there is little to no chance of a permanent deal being done. That being said City would be ludicrous to refuse him a loan move that would see regular football.

He’s been so impressive despite only really having fleeting appearances for City this season, he is ready for a first team role. Something Gary O’Neil can give him.

Pep Guardiola had promised Bobb substantial minutes, but he has only managed 49 minutes in the Premier League all season. Definitely a possibility for a loan.
