As a potential substitute for Tottenham target Ivan Toney, Teamtalk reports that Brentford may make a move for Toulouse attacker Thijs Dallinga.
Many sources have claimed over the past month that Spurs are searching for a center-forward to take Harry Kane’s place, and the Lilywhites are expected to move for Toney after his suspension expires in January (Daily Express).
While Tottenham is “worth watching” in the competition for the 27-year-old’s signature, David Ornstein of NBC Sports suggested two weeks ago that the Bees have not yet listed the player for sale.
The reporter said that rather than leaving the Gtech Community Stadium in January, the England international was more likely to do so in the summer.
There’s a growing chance that Ivan Toney will depart Brentford.
Toney is now “increasingly likely” to depart the West London club when the transfer window reopens, if Teamtalk’s most recent update is accurate.
The center-forward, who has made it known to the Bees administration that he wants a fresh challenge, has drawn interest from Spurs, Arsenal, and Chelsea, according to the report, which confirms what we have already heard from other sources.
According to the publication, Dallinga, who is very productive, has been chosen by Thomas Frank’s men to take Toney’s place.
Spurs Web Opinion
Brentford are likely to demand a humongous fee for Toney in January, and I do not see Spurs shattering their transfer record for the 27-year-old. If the Lilywhites do decide to move for a center-forward mid-season, Santiago Gimenez looks likely to be their top target.
