The head coach of Bristol City, calls the second backroom appointment “an important addition.”…

James Krause worked with Liam Manning at Oxford United having previously been an analyst at Arsenal

James is a valuable addition to the coaching staff and has a wealth of experience playing football at the highest level, according to Manning. “James will offer in-depth coaching and analysis to help the players maximize their training and advance in every aspect of their game.”

Shortly before Manning was appointed, Curtis Fleming quit the team. Former manager Nigel Pearson also left on the same day as head of medical performance Dave Rennie and first-team coach Jason Euell.
Some members of his coaching team are still with the HPC. Manning plans to keep goalkeeper coach Pat Mountain on staff, and Kalifa Cisse has been helping out in practice.

Rennie was an influential figure in terms of the physical management and recovery of the players from injury and when asked if City will be looking to replace him this week, chairman Jon Lansdown said those conversations were ongoing. “For the structure of the underlying rest of the staff, it’s something we’ll work closely with over the next few weeks, now that we’ve introduced Liam,” Lansdown said. “We’ll be talking to all our staff about structures and responsibilities but we’re not left short at the moment, we’re okay.”
