Ahead of Euro 2025 in Slovakia, the Netherlands U21 team is getting ready for their upcoming series of qualification matches. The team that head coach Michael Reiziger has selected for the forthcoming games against Sweden U21 and Gibraltar U21 is available here. The two most noteworthy stories are the return of Strasbourg attacker Emanuel Emegha and Middlesbrough’s Rav van den Berg, who were left off of the squad last month.
Rav van den Berg, who joined Middlesbrough from PEC Zwolle in the summer, has made 11 appearances for the Championship team this year. The 19-year-old center back has contributed to Michael Carrick’s team’s comeback after a somewhat unsteady start to the season.
Emanuel Emegha, a striker for Antwerp and former Sparta Rotterdam, is exceptionally gifted. The 20-year-old left Austrian team Sturm Graz in the summer, having scored nine goals in 27 games the previous campaign. He has only scored once in eight games with Strasbourg, but he will undoubtedly be able to support Jong Oranje under Michael Reiziger.
Ryan Gravenberch is still absent from both the senior and U21 teams. The midfield player chose not to play for his country during the most recent international break after moving from Bayern Munich to Liverpool. As of right now, Gravenberch has a minor injury that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp claims is not significant.
