This summer, Brentford will have another chance to sign a major player. Will need a “huge offer” in order to succeed…

This summer, if PSV Eindhoven decides not to extend Johan Bakayoko’s current contract, Brentford may be given another opportunity to sign the great player.

According to Eindhovens Dagblad, who is covering the player today, he and PSV have an agreement that his current contract “will not be extended.”

According to the publication, a settlement was reached in February, and since everyone involved is satisfied, there is currently no need for any talks.

Bakayoko is not expected to be moved until after this season, ideally after PSV has won the Eredivisie championship. Still, it will require a “huge offer” to get his signature.

However, there are other parties interested, such as Brentford, which offered €40 million in the summer but was told both PSV and the player “kindly declined.”

The unwillingness to extend the player’s contract and the intention to sell the team at the end of the current campaign, however, indicate that both sides may now be open to splitting ways at some point.

It remains to be seen if Brentford is willing to pay a high price to get him, especially considering that Bryan Mbeumo, Kevin Schade, and Michael Olakigbe already make up their current squad’s right-wing trio.

If they want to redouble their efforts during the summer transfer window, they still have the opportunity.
