Injury-Ravaged Huddersfield Town Prepare To Welcome Back Key Man For Hull City Duel

Huddersfield Town captain Jonathan Hogg is set to line up against Hull City at the MKM Stadium this weekend

Relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town will welcome back a key player for their trip to Hull City. Midfielder Jonathan Hogg is expected to return to the starting XI after completing a one-match suspension.

The Terriers skipper sat-out Saturday’s goalless draw with Watford after picking up five yellow cards this season. The 34-year-old has started 11 out of their 15 league matches.

Striker Kian Harratt was also absent for the Hornets clash due to personal reasons but could come into manager Darren Moore’s plans heading into Saturday’s Yorkshire derby at the MKM Stadium. It remains to be seen whether midfielder David Kasumu (hamstring) and forward Josh Koroma (groin) will be available for selection following spells on the sidelines.

Moore could only name six substitutes last time out because of the club’s lengthy injury list. It has been a challenging start to Moore’s reign, with Town racking up just one win from his eight matches in charge.

Three matches without a victory has seen them slide to fourth-from-bottom, four points above the relegation zone. “We have a responsibility to the fans and the football club – when we go out there and play, we play to the maximum,” Moore told William Hill this week.

“You try and give the players a philosophy and a gameplan to execute that with the skill and ability that they already have. At the same time, the majority of fans at the football club want to see that passion, grit and commitment. If there’s one thing a fan would ever associate to the team if they were playing them it’s that they work hard.

“The players have that responsibility in the sense that every time they put on that jersey for the club, they show those values so that the fans can see it. That’s something I’ve always wanted to install in the teams that I’ve managed and something that I’ll always continue to do going forward.”
