Sunderland Now Face PL Competition For 21-Year-Old Mowbray Thinks Is ‘Amazing’
Sunderland are now set to face competition from Premier League sides, in their bid to re-sign Amad Diallo.
Sunderland have long been linked with a return for Amad Diallo after his mesmerising spell on loan last season.
Instantly becoming a cult hero at the Stadium of Light, Amad was believed to prefer a move back to Sunderland if he was made to go on loan again.
Mowbray is believed to be keen on Amad returning, and has previously called him an ‘amazing footballer’.
Now though it seems as like Sunderland could be about to see competition from the Premier League.
Sunderland to face Premier League battle
According to an exclusive by Football Transfers, Amad has emerged as a target for Premier League side Wolves.
Wolves are missing their star right winger Pedro Neto through injury, while he is also believed to be a target for top European sides in the new year.
This would mean a move for Amad could likely be in a bid to replace him.
Given that Wolves are a Premier League side, this could be an opponent Sunderland struggles to prise Amad away from if he has the choice.
Will Sunderland sign Amad?
Sunderland seem set to at least attempt to bring Amad back in January, the winger hasn’t played this season for United through injury and so would likely be open to a move.
Sunderland have seen Patrick Roberts struggle this season which could mean a wing combination of Amad and Clarke again be a possibility.
It was a duo who did so well together last season, and could also make up from a lack of goals being scored from number nines.
Sunderland with last seasons main man back, could be a massive threat to all the teams currently occupying playoff positions. He could even inspire them to go one better than last season.
