What 19-Year-Old Nottingham Forest Star Say About Steve Cooper isn’t picking him

Nottingham Forest midfielder Andrey Santos is absolutely gutted that Steve Cooper isn’t picking him. The player arrived on loan from Chelsea in the summer but is yet to start a Premier League game.

The highly-rated Stamford Bridge gem had vast interest during the summer transfer window. Chelsea allowed Santos to join Forest, however, as they felt first-team football would be on the agenda.

Things haven’t transpired in that manner, though. Ibrahim Sangare was signed on transfer deadline day and with Nicolas Dominguez also coming in, Santos has been down the order on Cooper’s tactics board.

Santos disappointed to not be playing at Forest
The midfielder got his first taste of Premier League action at Liverpool on Saturday. Even then it was a very fleeting appearance with his cameo lasting less than 10 minutes.

Santos is a brilliantly talented football and he starred for Chelsea during their pre-season tour of the USA. The fact that Forest fought off competition from other clubs will make it even more frustrating for the player.

According to Premier League Brasil, the player isn’t happy. They now explain that the 19-year-old is really bothered by the fact that Cooper seemingly won’t pick him.

Forest are thought to have other priorities in midfield with Santos deemed backup. The view is that he’s not a player who will remain at the City Ground beyond this season, hence why he’s not getting regular action.

Santos should get game time this season
The Premier League is a long season and it can be a demanding one for teams in the bottom half. As a result, Santos should stay in positive spirits about his chances at Forest.

Sangare is one caution away from a suspension already. Ryan Yates is probably the next man up at the moment but Santos doesn’t seem too far down the Forest pecking order.

The challenge for Santos will be to grasp any Forest opportunities that come his way. At 19, he will be champing at the bit to play but for now, he simply must keep his confidence up and be ready to go when Cooper does give him the nod.
