JUST IN: New information on William Storey’s attempt to acquire Reading FC surfaced.

The fans of Reading FC might not receive their demand for a new club owner anytime soon, but it might happen eventually.

It is likely a comfort to learn, nevertheless, that British businessman William Storey will not be the next caretaker of the Royal family.
Storey has been a talking point ever since it became known that Yongge and his group were looking for outside financing for the squad, but many are leery of him because of his failed attempts to buy Coventry City and Sunderland in the past.

Exclusive: Former F1 team sponsor William Storey poised for £50m Reading takeover

Long before he made an effort to join Reading’s ownership, Storey was the subject of skepticism due to his involvement in a contentious sponsorship agreement with Formula One team Haas Racing back in the 2019 season.

Although the sponsorship—which was carried out through Storey’s Rich Energy drinks company—was cancelled midway through the 2019 Formula One campaign, people are still curious about it because there aren’t many Rich Energy goods available on the market and there is evidence of Storey’s true wealth.

In addition, Storey has announced that he and his investors are abandoning their bid to acquire the Berkshire outfit, despite his frequent remarks on Twitter about Reading as a team and his assertion that he had an exclusivity agreement with the hierarchy. He cites that due diligence was completed, and a decision was made as a result.
