Charlton Athletic & Middlesbrough Star Issues 137-Word Bristol City Statement After Losing Job
A member of Nigel Pearson’s backroom staff has said his goodbyes to Bristol City in an Emotional statement.
First-team coach Jason Euell has expressed his gratitude to Bristol City after his time at the club came to an end following Nigel Pearson’s sacking.
Euell and head of medical Dave Rennie left the Robins on Sunday following Pearson’s dismissal. The 46-year-old was brought to Ashton Gate in the summer of 2022 after being coached by Pearson at Southampton.
He had only left Charlton Athletic days before he ‘jumped at the chance’ to reunite with Pearson, and since then he was an influential figure on the training ground at the High Performance Centre. Euell along with caretaker boss Curtis Fleming took on more responsibilities on the touchline following Pearson’s back problem which required him to use crutches.
He said in a statement posted on Twitter: “Thank you for welcoming me and my family to your club & this greatest city over the last 17 months. It has always felt like ‘home from home’.
“Thank you for your support both on and off the pitch, keep filling those stands and making noise for your wonderful club.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know you all, continue all the greatest work you do for the job. To my extended family at RHPC nothing but love you ALL.
“THANK YOU for everything and continue to keep that special bond that you have. And last but no means least, to Nige for giving me the opportunity at Bristol City, learning from him has been a truly valuable experience for my development.
“I will miss everything about Bristol City bit I will always have fond memories.”
