Next Millwall manager favourites  going forward include former Rangers and Crystal Palace head coaches.

Following the departure of Gary Rowett, Millwall have been in the hunt for a new manager – today, we’ll look at several names who are in the running.

Since they fired their now-former head coach, Gary Rowett, earlier in October, Millwall has been without a manager. After his departure, a number of well-known individuals are vying for the open position.

Among the very recognizable names on the list are coaches who have previously held managerial positions at Rangers, Birmingham City, and Crystal Palace. Currently, Millwall is eight points above the relegation zone in the Championship, sitting in 18th place. At the New Den, there’s a lot of work to be done. Who should take the lead?

Who is the betting favourite to be the new permanent Millwall manager?
Currently, former Queens Park Rangers and Rangers head coach Michael Beale is the betting favourite to take on the job – he has been given odds of 1/1 to be appointed as the new manager of Millwall.

Recently, Beale’s stock has taken a bit of a hit. While his stint at Rangers started brightly, it quickly began to spiral out of his control – multiple defeats against Celtic and a lacklustre 2023 summer transfer window did little to ameliorate the Light Blues’ problems.

Taking on the Millwall job could be an excellent move for all parties. Beale was relatively successful during his brief stint in the Championship with QPR – could he replicate this with the Lions?
Who else is in the running?
Of course, Beale isn’t the only name being mooted around. Also in the running is ex-Luton Town and Southampton boss Nathan Jones, with odds of 9/4 – like Beale, he has also proven that he can be successful in the Championship.

Jones is among the contenders, along with Kevin Muscat, Neil Warnock, John Eustace, and Adam Barrett. With his managerial experience at Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, and most recently Huddersfield Town, Warnock stands out the most of these four.
