Will Wrexham youngster play for Wales as prolific frontman reveals his ‘wildest dreams’?

Paul Mullin, the prolific Wrexham striker, has expressed his desire to represent the Welsh national team, even though he does not expect an immediate call-up. Despite being on standby for the last Wales squad selected by manager Rob Page, he was not included in the final roster. Mullin’s impressive performances at the club level continue to make a case for his inclusion. Last season, he scored 47 goals, contributing to Wrexham’s promotion to the Football League, and he has already scored four goals this season.

In an interview on the Kammy & Ben’s Proper Football Podcast, Mullin discussed his aspiration to earn a Wales cap. He explained, “My dad’s mum was Welsh, she was born in Newport and grew up there. It’s something I would love to do. It would be a dream come true.” Mullin also acknowledged that he didn’t expect an immediate call-up but remained hopeful. He emphasized his commitment to giving his best and scoring goals for Wrexham, indicating that he could potentially make an impact if given the opportunity to represent Wales.

Mullin understands that international managers often prefer players who compete at higher levels, but he doesn’t hold a grudge for choosing to play in the lower leagues. He mentioned that he already holds the record for scoring the most goals in a League Two season, achieved during his time at Cambridge. Mullin’s passion for Wrexham and his dedication to scoring goals remain unwavering, and he would be thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Wales if it were to come his way.

Mullin has garnered support for his national team ambitions, both from Wrexham fans and club co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. His impressive performances in lower league football suggest that he could offer valuable contributions to the Welsh national team.
