Millwall has to keep a careful watch on this Premier League manager, who is about to lose his job.

Millwall remain without a manager after the departure of Gary Rowett earlier in the month.

Millwall has recently had two games under interim manager Adam Barrett, resulting in a draw against Preston and a defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers. Currently, they are positioned 16th in the Championship table, only four points away from the top six. However, their prospects of making it to the playoffs this season appear slim due to their underwhelming performance and a slow managerial search.

Despite the challenges, Millwall is expected to work diligently behind the scenes to find the right replacement for Rowett. This is a complex task since most of the current squad was assembled during Rowett’s four-year tenure. Therefore, any incoming manager will largely be inheriting a team molded by Rowett. It remains to be seen whether Millwall will consider domestic or international candidates. However, a manager with Championship experience is usually a reliable choice, and one potential candidate is Paul Heckingbottom.

EXCLUSIVE: Paul Heckingbottom could be sacked THIS WEEKEND if Sheffield United lose at Arsenal... with former Blades boss Chris Wilder in line to replace him | Daily Mail Online

Paul Heckingbottom, who is currently facing uncertainty at Sheffield United, might soon become available. Sheffield United has endured a five-game losing streak and occupies the bottom position in the Championship with just one point from nine games. There are reports that Heckingbottom’s job is on the line, especially if Sheffield United loses to Arsenal on Saturday.

Heckingbottom has a track record of achieving League One promotion with Barnsley and Championship promotion with Sheffield United, both of which were achieved against expectations. His teams are known for playing an adventurous and attacking style of football, which aligns with what the Millwall board may desire in a replacement for Rowett.

Given Heckingbottom’s experience as a proven Football League manager and his current precarious situation, Millwall should monitor his situation closely as a potential candidate for their managerial position.
