Huddersfield Town Injury Update: 22-Year-Old Amazing Star Is Questionable To Play Against Leeds United
The midfield player will be evaluated prior to the trip to Elland Road. Since sustaining a kick during Tuesday night’s loss to Cardiff City, he has been wearing a protective boot.
Jack Rudoni’s availability for the Terriers’ local derby against Leeds United was not made clear by manager Darren Moore, but losing him would undoubtedly be devastating for the team given his stellar start to the Championship season.
Following Huddersfield Town’s midweek loss to Cardiff City, Rudoni was seen sporting a protective boot. Moore said on Friday that Rudoni had been kicked, which caused some swelling, and that the club’s physiotherapists will evaluate him this afternoon. The manager said that strapping was being done as a precaution for the time being, but he was unable to say whether or not Rudoni would be able to play on Saturday afternoon.
With three goals and an assist in the campaign thus far, the impactful midfielder has been Town’s main man most of the time. He also plays a crucial role in a central midfield position that isn’t particularly well-covered by veteran players. In the event that Rudoni was sidelined, Ben Wiles, Brahima Diarra, Rarmani Edmonds-Green, Ben Jackson, and Josh Austerfield would be candidates to start with captain Jonathan Hogg.
Moore does not anticipate that any of his injured players will return. Another possible alternative to replace Rudoni would be David Kasumu, although Moore hasn’t had a chance to use him yet because he left the game in the first half of the 2-2 draw against Stoke City last September due to a hamstring injury.
Danny Ward, a center-forward, has been sidelined since early September due to an Achilles tendon issue that has been hurting him for some time. In his place, Kian Harratt and Delano Burgzorg have started the last two games at the front.
Josh Ruffels, the club’s defender, was unable to play 90 minutes due to a groin ache he had before the international break, therefore the team decided to leave him off the roster. His previous appearance was in the goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday, and he hasn’t played since before the October international break.
After playing for Wales under-21s internationally during the past two weeks, winger Pat Jones also sustained a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the game. Meanwhile, Ollie Turton, the right-back, is still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and is unlikely to return until late December at the latest.
