Huddersfield Town Owner Delivers Strong Vow After ‘Unacceptable’ Display Ahead Of Leeds United Clash
The Huddersfield Town owner did not hide his disappointment after his side were beaten by Cardiff City
Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle has blasted his side following their 4-0 defeat to Cardiff City in midweek. The Terriers, who’re struggling at the foot of the Championship, were comfortably beaten by the Bluebirds in a dismal home display.
There’s been no new manager bounce for boss Darren Moore having won just once in six games. Town travel to Elland Road this weekend for the Yorkshire Derby with the odds stacked against them.
Leeds United will be looking to pile further misery on their close rivals, but know all too well the need to be at their very best. The Whites drew with Sheffield Wednesday earlier in this season, with the Owls still winless heading into the final week of October.
Daniel Farke’s side were far from their best that day and can’t afford a similar slip up if they’re serious about automatic promotion. Ipswich Town and Leicester City are the two sides setting the pace at the summit of the Championship with Leeds hot on their tails.
The Whites take on the Foxes in their next Championship fixture after the Yorkshire derby with Town and could be in a real position to enter the automatic promotion race. Terriers’ owner Nagle will be hoping his side can turn in a much improved display at Elland Road.
“An unacceptable performance,” Nagle shared on X (formerly Twitter) following the defeat to Cardiff. “Our supporters deserve so much more. We have to do better, from the boardroom to the pitch, and it starts with me.
“You want to vent to someone? Can’t blame you. So vent to me, I can take it. We WILL do better, this I promise.”
