Huddersfield Town manager Darren Moore has taken six points from a possible 18 since replacing Neil Warnock in the managerial hotseat at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Darren Moore is adamant that Huddersfield Town will “stick together” in their attempt to forget their crushing loss to Cardiff City as soon as possible. The Terriers’ manager has drawn harsh criticism following the team’s 4-0 midweek loss to the Bluebirds.
It was Town’s first loss at the John Smith’s Stadium since Moore replaced Neil Warnock as manager. Birmingham City crushed them 4-1 earlier this month. This was Town’s second consecutive crushing defeat under Moore. Moore emphasized, “When we lose, we lose it together.” “We win together when we triumph.
“We will stick together as a group going forward. We are disappointed as we didn’t show a true reflection of ourselves against Cardiff. I will continue to work with the players and get the group together again and we will push on and look forward.”
Moore made four changes at half-time but the damage had already been done. Supporters made their feelings clear at the final whistle.
“It was a bad night at the office,” conceded Moore, whose picked up six points from his six matches in charge. “We have to move on because we have got another game at the weekend.
“We have got plenty more fixtures to look forward to this season and we have to look to improve as a group. It wasn’t good enough against Cardiff.
“Considering where we are and what we want to accomplish, we suffered a devastating defeat, but that’s the nature of football and the business we work in. Sometimes life might be brutal, but how you react is what matters.”
Town’s next match is against promotion-chasing Leeds United at Elland Road. For the much-awaited Yorkshire derby, it is still unknown if Moore will be able to use players like Josh Ruffels (groin), David Kasumu (hamstring), and Danny Ward (Achilles).
