West Ham-linked Stuttgart ace Serhou Guirassy has a release clause of less than €20million (£17.4million), according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
The journalist reported via his personal X account on Monday (23 October) that the clause is for the winter, although a summer move is more likely at this stage.
According to TEAMtalk (24 October), West Ham are among a trio of Premier League clubs interested in signing the striker.
“Excl. News Serhou Guirassy: The 27 y/o already has a release clause for the winter. It is less than 20million euros,” Plettenberg wrote on X.
“However, he currently has no intention of leaving VfB in the winter. A transfer is planned at the earliest for the following summer.”
TEAMtalk reported on its website: “We understand that aside from Spurs, West Ham and Fulham too have shown interest.”
Huge battle
Guirassy is enjoying a stunning Bundesliga campaign, with the striker scoring 14 goals from his eight league matches so far. The 27-year-old has also netted from his one DFB-Pokal match, taking his tally to 15 goals from just nine matches.
Such form has unsurprisingly caught the eye of several clubs, who will be delighted to hear of such a low release clause in the modern-day game.
West Ham should absolutely be targeting the striker in the January transfer window, with the likes of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings not exactly firing on all cylinders this season.
The two Hammers players might not stay at the London Stadium for very long, and Stuttgart star Guirassy appears more than capable of adjusting to the Premier League swiftly.
It will be a hefty ask, though, as a number of other teams will undoubtedly compete with West Ham for his services during the winter transfer window.
