Newcastle may acquire a player for a “complete bargain” – ridiculous January clause.

Serhou Guirassy’s release clause is still in effect for the January transfer window, giving Newcastle United the chance to acquire him for a discounted fee.

According to Sky Germany, the Bundesliga’s leading scorer is free to leave Stuttgart in January if someone wants to sign him.

With 14 goals in eight games, Guirassy has had an incredible start to the season, considerably outpacing other players like Harry Kane and Victor Boniface.

It has sparked ongoing rumors regarding his future, and various publications have said that he has a €20 million release clause in his current deal that will come into effect next summer.

That was seen as a concerning issue for the German side as they know that’s a bit of a bargain and they’ve been working on getting him signed to a new deal with an improved clause to ensure they don’t lose him on the cheap.

It seems, though, there is a pressing need for that as Sky Germany now reveal that Guirassy has another exit clause for the January transfer window.
According to them the striker can leave Stuttgart in the winter for ‘less than €20m’, thus a bit cheaper than in the summer. That’s a price which represents ‘an absolute bargain’ given his current performances.

That should be interesting to his growing list of suitors, including Newcastle, who have been linked with a potential move since August this year.

Indeed, the player even opened the door to a potential move by admitting he’d be open to a transfer if it was offered to him.

Whether Newcastle remain keen, particularly with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson continuing to score goals, is up for debate but the possibility is there to get a player for ‘an absolute bargain’ price.
