My dream” – Stefano Pioli clearly wants his top player to sign for Manchester City, feels he’d succeed there.

Following his heroic performance for Juventus against AC Milan over the weekend, Manuel Locatelli is now being linked to a transfer to Manchester City in the Italian media.

As the concept was shared by his former manager Walter De Vecchi, it is more of a wish than a transfer rumor.

Sport Italia spoke with the former coach, who had previously worked at the Milan academy, on Locatelli. He said that Manchester City would be a terrific place for the player to go there.

He is starting to play a bigger role for the national squad as well. He is skilled at recovering the ball and helping a teammate in need, in addition to possession and set-up, according to Walter De Vecchi.

“Those Locatelli critics have no knowledge of football. He would be somewhat like Paulo Roberto Falcao on a team that imposes its style of play. My ideal scenario would be for him to play for a team like Manchester City, where Locatelli would shine.
Because of his success in Italian football, Locatelli has already generated some speculation about a move to the Premier League. In the previous year, teams like Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, and West Ham United have been mentioned as potential homes for him.

Manchester City was said to be interested in him as well, although that rumor goes back to 2021, when he was making a name for Sassuolo. He was signed by Juventus in that year on a two-year loan, and this summer, Juventus made the €30 million trade official.
