David Moyes and Tim Steidten now eyeing move to bring 27-year-old Argentina international to West Ham.

Manager David Moyes of West Ham United ought to start searching for a new center back either in January or the following summer.

Konstantinos Mavropanos was one of the four new players that David Moyes brought into the London Stadium this summer, and he was a fantastic addition for West Ham.
And it appears like he intends to do just that.

David Moyes wants to bring in a new center back for West Ham.
According to a report from Calciomercato.it, West Ham United is interested in signing Fiorentina’s Martinez Quarta during the January transfer window.

However, according to the report, if Moyes wants to get the 12-cap Argentina international from Serie A to the Premier League, the Hammers will have to pony up at least £22 million.

The 27-year-old joined Fiorentina from River Plate back in 2020, but it seems as though he could now be set to leave La Viola.

Fiorentina Defender Lucas Martinez Quarta: "We Know It Will Be A Difficult Game Against Inter"

West Ham and Brighton are thought to be battling it out for his services, so he must be a top-class player…

Martinez Quarta could be Premier League bound
In six Serie A outings for Fiorentina this season, the 12-capped Argentina international has averaged 3.7 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 2.8 clearances and 2.5 successful aerial duels per game (Who Scored).
He is a really progressive passer as well, and always takes on the risky option in order to progress his team further up the pitch. This is highlighted by his relatively poor pass completion rate for a central defender of just 79.3% (Who Scored).

Martinez Quarta stands at just 6ft tall, and there have to be question marks about his suitability to the robust, physical and intense nature of Premier League.

I’m not sure that signing him for £22 million this winter would be a smart move by West Ham manager David Moyes. There are plenty of better and more suitable options out there.
