Nottingham Forest boss reveals Liverpool old boy will definitely return to training ahead of Anfield trip.

Super Eagles attacker Taiwo Awoniyi has received an injury report from Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper.

During Forest’s 1-1 draw with Brentford on Matchday 7 of the Premier League at the City Ground, the 26-year-old sustained an injury.

Awoniyi’s injury forced him to miss the Super Eagles’ friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique as well as the disappointing draw with Crystal Palace before the break.

How Home Support Kept Nottingham Forest In The Premier League
Prior to Forest’s Sunday trip to Anfield, Cooper asserts that the Liverpool-born striker might resume training.

The Welsh-born coach provided the most recent information regarding the Nigerian international’s fitness during his pre-game duties before his team’s match against Luton Town on Saturday.

In quotes relayed by Nottingham’s hirelive, he said: “Taiwo is progressing well. He’s not far off some training, so let’s see how the next week goes, going into the game after Saturday.”

Cooper will be hoping to have his star striker back on the pitch as soon as possible as Forest seek to regain momentum having failed to win a league game since beating Chelsea last month.

Super Eagles right back Ola Aina is also yet to recover from his muscle injury and has missed Forest’s last two league games.
