According to BILD writer Paul Gorgas, out-on-loan Leeds United player Brenden Aaronson is not physically fit for the demands of the Bundesliga and already had a “stupid” moment at Union.
Victor Orta’s relegation loan clause allowed eight senior players, including 22-year-old Aaronson, to go on loan from Leeds. in addition to people like Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, and Jack Harrison.
The USA player has so far made eight appearances for Union, a Champions League team. In all competitions, he has only started three of the eight games, and in one of those games, Aaronson was dismissed after only 21 minutes.
He is yet to live up to the hype of Union fans when he first joined the German side on loan from Leeds. Gorgas says it is clear Aaronson is not ready physically for the Bundesliga, and spoke of his red card.
“He lacks a physical quality, the strong physical appearance you need, especially in the Bundesliga because it’s quite a strong and physical league. You get the impression that he’s not up at that level.
“He was sent off in the second match of the season against Darmstadt, which wasn’t really clever. It was a stupid first yellow card for kicking the ball away. The other yellow card wasn’t too clever,” Gorgas said.
Leeds man Aaronson is not up to the physicality of Bundesliga
Surprise, surprise. Last season, in his 40 games for Leeds, Aaronson proved that he had quality. A quick mind, full of flair and intelligence. But in the Premier League, that is undone if you cannot be physical.
Aaronson’s lack of physical prowess is obvious. Just by looking at him, it is clear that he is not a player that can keep the ball under pressure at this level. His lack of impact at Union is a clear example of that.
