According to reports, Sunderland and Manchester United have discussed bringing Amad Diallo back to the club.
After suffering an injury and seeing little action in the Premier League, Diallo might be making a fantastical comeback to the Stadium of Light in January.
The Ivorian, who ITV described as “electric,” was one of the Championship’s most thrilling players the previous season.
Why wasn’t Amad Diallo a part of the summer team?
After his stellar play for the Black Cats, he appeared destined to dominate at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Early in preseason, the attacker made an impression. Any possibility he had of having an immediate effect was destroyed by a knee injury.
Any chance of him playing for the Red Devils or making a move back to the North East was ruled out by this issue.
Diallo is soon to return to fitness. After missing a large portion of the season, Erik Ten Haag appears to prefer a loan deal.
What will he add to Sunderland?
Everyone knows what Amad is about and if he finds his feet quickly, he spells danger for opposition defences.
He is direct, powerful, pacey and definitely has an eye for goal.
With Jack Clarke linked heavily to the Premier League, Diallo would be an ideal replacement. That being said, they would be perfect together.
If Tony Mowbray can get them both firing on all cylinders, the Black Cats will be a danger.
This one looks like it could happen and Sunderland fans have every right to get excited. The prodigal son is set to return.
