Today, According to the head coach, Forest’s 21-year-old might make his first international debut in 11 months.

Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest may play tonight, according to Sweden head coach Janne Andersson. Since November 2022, the young player has not made a start for his nation, but that could soon change.

Elanga hasn’t made Sweden’s starting eleven since a friendly match against Mexico 11 months ago. As Sweden plays Moldova this evening, the player will now have his chance.

Elanga arrived at Forest from Manchester United during the summer transfer window. He cost the club £15 million and he’s already looking like a very solid investment for the future.

Sweden head coach implies he could pick Elanga
This could be huge for the Forest man. He will be desperate to play well for Forest and force his way into the Sweden reckoning and now he could get that opportunity.

Andersson has been speaking to the national media and he’s namechecked Elanga. He told Sport Bladet: “Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga and Eintracht Frankfurt talent Hugo Larsson will get playing time in some form.”

This is big news for the Forest youngster and he will want to grasp his chance to start. He’s only started two games for the Reds in the Premier League but does have a goal and an assist to his name.

Forest star Elanga will hope to impress tonight
Tonight’s clash is only a friendly contest. Andersson is clearly going to use the game as a chance to look at some of the options in his squad and that bodes well for Elanga.

Moldova will provide a decent level of opposition. They recently beat Poland in World Cup qualification and have also held Austria and the Czech Republic recently.

However, Forest’s Elanga will be confident in his ability to harass their defense tonight. Steve Cooper will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on his player tonight because of his scary pace in the Premier League.

Elanga is still attempting to convince Forest’s head coach that he deserves to start games on a regular basis. After this international break, he will want to start more frequently as he has settled comfortably at the City Ground.
