“Forget about Wolverhampton” – In order to alleviate player’s transfer anxiety, the head coach made his decision.

Boulaye Dia has been asked to put Wolverhampton Wanderers out of his mind and concentrate on assisting Salernitana on the field. Director of Tutto Salernitana Luca Esposito asserted as much while appearing as a guest on TMW Radio.

Wolves made an approach to sign the striker on a loan with a purchase requirement toward the end of the previous transfer window. He tried to force a move since he was eager to accept the offer, but the Serie A team stopped him.

The Senegal international arrived late from the previous international break because he wasn’t happy with it. Dia has already returned to the club after the two sides’ dispute was settled.

Since then, the 26-year-old has made three league appearances and his displays haven’t pleased Esposito.
“Dia must demonstrate his attachment to the shirt. The transfer window reopens in January and he will go away for the Africa Cup of Nations. It’s now or never.

The fans forgave him but against Inter and Monza he appeared a bit lanky and out from the game. He must be recovered, last year his goals guaranteed salvation a month early,” he said.

Salernitana have also struggled on the pitch, leaving them sit in the relegation zone after eight games. This has resulted in the club replacing manager Paulo Sousa with Filippo Inzaghi earlier this week.

The Tutto Salernitana journalist believes Inzaghi will not only help Dia on the pitch but off it as well, helping him to forget about Wolves.

“He can help, who can do it better than him. Make him understand to forget about Wolverhampton and only think about the pitch,” Esposito explained.
