Jon Tomkinson, a defender for the Bantams represents the USA
The City center back, who is on loan from Norwich, is among the 23 players gathered by head coach Marko Mitrovic as they get ready for the Olympics in Paris next year.
On Wednesday and next Tuesday, respectively, they will play Mexico and Japan in Phoenix.
Tomkinson was the last player Mark Hughes brought to Valley Parade, and after the deadline had passed and the paperwork had been approved, he signed on for a season-long loan.
But up to this point, he has only made one brief appearance, coming off the bench for the final few seconds of the home draw against Grimsby last month.
The 21-year-old Texan has been named in the squad just once in the six games since.
Tomkinson, who has represented his country at under-17 level, is among eight European-based players to be involved but the only one from England.
It will be the first time the USA men’s team have featured in the Olympics for 16 years. The tournament is limited to players under 23 with three over-age allowed.
The young squad includes nine who have been capped by the senior side.
Meanwhile, City’s Clarke Oduor has not been included in the Kenya squad to face Russia in a friendly in Turkey next Monday because of injury.
