Chelsea could have their chances of signing wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo wrecked by Nottingham Forest, according to reports.
The Blues are in the race to sign the talented young Brazilian with Barcelona but face the agony of missing out on him due to Andrey Santos’ situation at Forest. Brazilian starlet Santos, who signed for Chelsea earlier this year in a £13million deal, was loaned out to fellow Premier League club Forest back in the summer to spend the season developing away from Stamford Bridge
However, his loan spell has not gone to plan with the Chelsea star yet to taste a single minute of first-team action in the Premier League. And that could give Barcelona the advantage to seal a deal for Moscardo from under the noses of Chelsea, according to Spanish publication Sport.
The 18-year-old midfielder is represented by Giuliano Bertolucci, the same agent as Santos. And the report claims that he and the Moscardo may think twice about accepting Chelsea’s offer in light of how Andrey’s time at Chelsea so far has panned out. 19-year-old Santos has played 90 minutes for Forest but that came in the 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat against Burnley back in August.
