Player’s ‘authentic’ manner was ‘well received’ at Leeds – Now seemingly set for international recognition

If you’ve been following along since the summer, you’ll know that Robin Koch has been doing very well since his departure from Leeds United.

The German defender joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in July, taking advantage of a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave Elland Road on loan following relegation.

He’s been shining for the Bundesliga side ever since, establishing himself as a key player and impressing in the stats too, as SportBILD cover today.

They explain that Frankfurt currently have the best defence in the league, a rapid improvement from last season that is being mostly attributed to the arrival of Koch.

He’s played a ‘large part’ since arriving from Leeds, feautring in every minute thus far and ‘becoming the head’ of the defence in a back three.

He’s ‘taking giants steps’ towards becoming a national team staple too, with Sport BILD’s information claiming that the club and the players ‘are in good spirits’ about his chances of being in Julian Nagelsmann’s first squad in the next international break.
Nagelsmann and Rudi Voller have already been seen watching games and a call up would not be a surprise, especially as the Leeds loanee is dominating in the stats as well.

It’s not just that which is earning Koch praise and attention, though, with his attitude off the pitch also a major plus point.

This was something that made him very popular at Leeds, where his ‘down-to-earth and authentic manner’ was well received by everyone at the club.

He often helped with the integration of new arrivals, and it’s been the same at Frankfurt, where he’s learning Spanish to better integrate with his defensive partners.

This nature means he’s ‘prevailed everywhere’ and he’s now hoping that can translate to the national team, with a return there now being seen as inevitable.
