‘Incredible’ Newcastle’s 31-year-old will no longer play against PSG in the UCL on Wednesday.

As they prepare for their first Champions League match at St. James’ Park in 20 years, Newcastle United is a wounded animal.

As he balances Newcastle competing on several fronts, Eddie Howe is currently coping with a string of injuries.

On Saturday, the Toon manager made eight changes to the lineup from the one that defeated Manchester City in the Carabao Cup. The substitutions paid off as Newcastle defeated Burnley 2-0 thanks to a screamer from Miguel Almiron and an icy-cold penalty from Alexander Isak.

There will likely be a couple of changes again for Wednesday night’s game, where the Magpies face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

It is going to be an incredible occasion, but one that some of Newcastle’s biggest names are going to miss – including Callum Wilson.

Newcastle will be without Callum Wilson against PSG

According to the Telegraph, Wilson will be unavailable for the Champions League clash with PSG.

The ‘incredible‘ 31-year-old has missed the Magpies’ previous two games with a hamstring complaint, and his now set to miss a third.

That is massively disappointing, as Wilson is one of our key players and our chief goal threat. He had been in brilliant form before this injury, boasting four goals this season.

Isak will undoubtedly start against the Ligue 1 champions due to his ailment. He intends to perform significantly better than he did on Saturday. Even though he scored in the victory over Burnley, Isak’s performance was far from his best.

Other notable athletes will also miss the PSG match in addition to Wilson. Joelinton will also be missing, as will Sven Botman. On Saturday, the Brazilian came off the bench but was removed right away due to a hamstring injury.

Newcastle’s injuries are getting worse as a result of the strain of participating in three different competitions.
