Former Birmingham City Captain Makes Bold Player Claim during a recent podcast interview.

In a recent podcast interview with quotations from Birmingham Mail, former Birmingham City captain Troy Deeney made a big statement while comparing himself to England captain Harry Kane.

Do you agree with the Forest Green Rovers striker’s assertions that he possesses three qualities superior to those of Harry Kane?

How did the team perform this year?

After leaving his alma mater Birmingham City, Troy Deeney became a free agent this summer and unexpectedly joined League Two team Forest Green Rovers as a player-coach. This season, he has made six appearances and scored four goals.

In the meantime, Harry Kane moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich for a hefty transfer fee. In just seven games across all competitions, he helped the German champions score eight goals and assist four more.

What was the claim?
Deeney spoke to the Winners Talking Podcast where he spoke in-depth during comparisons between himself and the England international and he stated …

“Is Harry Kane a better footballer than Troy Deeney? Absolutely. I’d be naive to say he’s not. Is he a better finisher than me? Yes.

“Can he head a ball better than me? No. Can he control a ball better than me, like look after it when there’s two men on his back? No.

“So when you’re winning a game in the 85th minute and you need someone to come on because he’s getting a bit tired or whatever, he can’t do what I can do. If I was going to go in at Spurs, that would have been my role. That’s it. That’s what I’m talking about.”
