According to journalist Darren Witcoop, winger Corey Blackett-Taylor of Charlton Athletic has started to incite a transfer struggle ahead of the January transfer window.
The winger already has interest from two Championship sides so far, with there being the potential of several other sides joining the race between now and the turn of the year.
His start to the season
Blackett-Taylor has featured eight times for Charlton Athletic so far this season and has continued to catch the eye of the League One side.
During this time, the 26-year-old has scored two goals and assisted a further three as well as starting in every game he has played so far this season.
Who is interested?
According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Championship duo Hull City and Swansea City have joined the battle to sign the winger during the January transfer window as both sides have been scouting the player in recent weeks.
However, due to the forward’s contract situation (more on that shortly), it is likely that Blackett-Taylor will attract the attention of several more Championship and League One sides over the coming weeks, especially if the side cannot get themselves back into top six contention.
Improvement needed
Charlton Athletic currently sit 16th in the League One standings after a difficult start to the season. The side have lost four of their eight matches in league competition and have also won just two of their previous six matches in all competitions.
This included a 3-1 victory against Wycombe Wanderers last time out, with Blackett-Taylor grabbing one of the goals in the contest and they travel to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon.
Writer’s View
Blackett-Taylor scored eight goals in 29 appearances last season and has continued to build on that success this season. He is currently on course to hit roughly 16 goals this season.
Swansea City have signed multiple attacking options during the summer window, as have Hull City. However, with Blackett-Taylor’s contract set to expire this summer, the battle for his signature is quickly heating up.
