Sources: Aston Villa Ready to bring back star as emery sees real value in superb 20 year old talent.

TEAM talk has learned that Aston Villa is thinking about using their option to recall Louie Barry from Stockport County in January in order to place the player on loan at a higher level.

Surprisingly, the 20-year-old winger made a summer transfer to Edgeley Park, joining Dave Challinor’s team on a season-long loan. At the time, Villa was glad to allow the player to transfer on a temporary basis but hoped he would do so at a better level. The deal was considered as a genuine coup for the League Two team.

Now that Barry has so far performed admirably for County, that chance might present itself at the second attempt. In fact, through eight games in League Two, he has five goals and one assist.

As a result, if Unai Emery and company get proposals to sign Barry at a higher level, they will seriously consider recalling the player in the January transfer window.

Prior to moving to Edgeley Park, Barry renewed his long-term contract with Villa and has since spent time on loan with a number of different teams. In fact, before moving to Stockport, he played for Ipswich, MK Dons, and Salford over the previous three seasons.

However, he could soon add another club to that CV if Villa decide to bring the former England U18 international back.

Barry joined Villa in 2021 from Barcelona, who had previously spotted the Sutton Coldfield born attacker playing for West Brom’s academy side.
